2015 Kia Forte Koup SX - Review & Test Drive

The 2015 Kia Forte Koup SX is a two door coupe with 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. This comes from a turbocharged 1.6L I4 engine which is matched to either a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. The Forte can be paired with a good number of features including leather heated and cooled drivers seat, heated steering wheel, auto dimming mirror, automatic folding exterior mirrors, dual zone climate control, and three steering modes.

2015 Dodge Viper TA 2.0 - Review & Test Drive

The 2015 Dodge Viper SRT GTC Coupe features an 8.4L V10 engine producing 645 HP and 600 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in production. Power is sent to the rear wheels on this coupe weighing under 3,400 lbs, with weight perfectly balanced 50/50 between the front and rear axles. The Viper ACR with extreme aero package takes it up a notch, with the most downforce on a production vehicle, over 1,700 lbs at 170 mph. The car is decorated in functional aero bits, including a splitter, front dive planes, flat under-tray and diffuser, and a massive rear wing. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six speed, tall geared, manual transmission.

Water Methanol Injection - More Boost!

How water methanol injection works. Water methanol injection is used typically on high powered vehicles to assist with reducing the likelihood of knock, and thus allowing for higher compression ratios, more timing advance, and higher boost. Typically mixes are 50/50, with both water and methanol playing important but different roles to help aid in producing more power. Ultimately, the power comes from tuning as running water/meth essentially raises the octane level of the fuel used. There are production cars which have used this in the past.

Subaru WRX STI vs Mitsubishi EVO X - Which AWD Sedan Is Best?

The 2016 Subaru WRX STI versus the 2015 Mitsubishi EVO X MR. Though the real winner is likely the 2016 Ford Focus RS, the battle between the EVO and STI was seemingly going to be a never ending debate. That is until Mitsubishi announced 2015 is the final model year for the Lancer Evolution. 

Both of these cars feature turbocharged four cylinder engines producing around 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. They both have sophisticated AWD systems with active center differentials and helical limited slip differentials for the front axle. The Mitsubishi features a torque vectoring rear differntial, while the Subaru employs a Torsen style limited slip diff. Both have immense traction in nearly any condition with the right tires. 

The STI’s many small victories make it the champion. Less weight with more power, a more adaptable driving position, sharp short-ratio steering, a much nicer interior and infotainment system, more cargo space, a longer range on each tank of gas, and a wonderful 6 speed manual transmission. But if we’re being honest, there are no winners here. With the death of the EVO, Subaru was able to be more conservative on the design of the new STI, with power levels relatively unchanged since 2004. So here’s to the new Ford Focus RS for bringing competition back to the AWD hot hatch segment.

2015 Mitsubishi Evolution X MR Review - The Last Evo

The 2015 Mitsubishi Evolution X MR is the final model year for the Evo. The vehicle features a 2.0L I4 engine producing 291 HP and 300 lb-ft of torque, sent though a sophisticated AWD system called S-AWC which involves an active center differential and a torque vectoring rear differential. The MR features a 6 speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) with paddle shifters. 

The Evo X has multiple transmission modes: Normal, Sport, and Super Sport where shift points and shifting speeds are altered. There are also various AWD modes including Tarmac, Gravel, and Snow.

Too Much Negative Camber - Wheel Alignment

How much camber is too much? When getting a wheel alignment, what should camber be set to for performance driving? A slight amount of negative camber can increase the amount of lateral grip a car has at the limit, though too much negative camber can result in uneven tire wear, reduced grip, and premature tire failure.
